J&E Chairwoman meets EC Environment Commissioner Sinkevicius

At an event in Zagreb, Croatia, the President of the Committee for Environment and Nature Protection Sandra Benčić, the Vice President of the Committee for Agriculture Ružica Vukovac, the Vice President of the Committee for European Affairs Darko Sobota and members of the three committees and other representatives held a meeting on Wednesday with the Commissioner of the European Commission for the Environment, Oceans and Fisheries Virginijus Sinkevičius .

Zeljka Leljak Gracin (leftmost on the photo), Chairwoman of Justice and Environment also participated at the meeting and raised important questions such as topics that J&E is working on, the future of the Nature Restoration Law, concerns about RePowerEU, his opinion on the future of the Anti-SLAPP Directive and the possibility of a new discussion to be opened on the forgotten Acess to (Environmental) Justice Directive.

The Commissioner said that the future looks promising regarding the Nature Restoration Law, talked about the need to speed up infrigement procedures and spoke about the need of investment into civil society, the need to gather to a decision table in all levels and the fact that the idea of the Green Deal came from the civil society.
