🎉 Good news for wildlife conservation! 🐺 The ECJ has ruled in favour of protecting wolves in Austria, thanks to the efforts of WWF Austria and J&E member ÖKOBÜRO. This decision strengthens species protection across Europe! Key points from the verdict: 🔴 The wolf's conservation status in Austria is not favorable. 🔴 Exceptions to the hunting ban require favorable conservation status locally, nationally, and across borders - which is not the case. 🔴 Alternative solutions like better herd protection must be considered before any cull. This ruling is legally binding for all EU member states and will impact the protection of other species like the lynx and otter.
